I've never truly been a fan of journalling/blogging because not only am I suffering but now there is evidence of it on the World Wide Web. But I guess I'm simply going to use this as an outlet to document my university life.

As of now, I am 17 years old and will be studying Design / Education (Secondary).

(17/02/25) My first class was 'Social Perspectives in Education', essentially what we were reminded of during that the platitudes of mainstream narratives reinforcig that society is overall fair is woefully out-of-sync. What WAS interesting was that the ones that retaliated over this section of our wk 1 reading were not... melanated in the slightest. Unseasoned if you would. But otherwise, we were told that the basic study habits (eg. reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and critical thinking) are extremely underdeveloped in college/university students and that ironically, this can be due to structural inequalities. Standardised testing moves children from intelllectual curiousity as well as engagement with ambiguity. This overall creates students that are conforming and compliant. Fun, huh?

(18/02/25) Today, I had two seperate classes and had a good 2 hour break in between them. My 5hr design class was first. Getting to know people is exhausting. Icebreakers are just horrible. There's this dude next to me who I'll call Arnold cus his name just sounds like that bro. Arnold is this really tall dude with really long legs. He was legit too close. Social distancing violation close. I know bro needs to get some leg room but his chair was leaning against my shoulder. The two others at my table seemed to be international students, they were busy interacting with one another so it was just me and Arnold. Got to move around and meet others - we got nonbinary honkai player, quiet emo asian dude that I can barely hear when they talk, and the eldest and possibly neurodivergent dude in my class. 20 year old Jimmy (It's not that his name is Jimmy, I just don't remember his name). Also this is not me making fun of them, this is simply their synopsis. I think this would be better communicated had you heard me explain this irl. Essentially, we have a design project and the theme we have to go with is "impermanence". What I'm thinking is like trading cards of old video game characters/franchises that not everyone really remembers. My thought process is that it's challenging the fragility of our nostalgia?? Also I guess this is somewhat of a commentary on the preservance of video games and how we've gone from standalone games in creative packagings to online games we quote on quote "do not own" according to our brother in christ Steam :pensive: ... then there was my tutor that afternoon... I didn't know if the library was the best place to do our tutor classes so I email her. No response, I understand though. Why answer an email when our class is starting within the next hour? But then my laptop dies within the first few minutes. I warned babes and I think she acknowledged it because low and behold, my earphones just broke. I email her after but apparently I left it in my drafts so I send it on Friday which is my fault exactly. I hear from people in my lecture class that there's an annotated bibliography task to do. How was I meant to know? The application we're using is quite confusing and I hate it so much. The email I had sent to my tutor was about what it was exactly. That was Friday. It is Monday as I'm writing this. No response whatsoever. Within that time, my graphics teacher emailed me only minutes after I asked her about something. Others have told me that my tutor has this teaching philosphy in which if you're not in the online class, you don't get anything. My year 12 English and Extension II English teacher was like this... But I had known her 4 years prior. I do not know this woman. I thought she'd at least have some leniancy because I am new, this is the first class. But I'm also thinking this is probably a fault of mine for not taking the proper precautions of charging my laptop and such. AITA? loloolol.

(19/02/25) Legitimately one of my better days at uni, I spent 4 out of the 5 hours taking photos and some of them were AMAZING. But then I was deleting photos of my USB when I pressed it one too many times and boom. Lost my best pictures. I scower the internet, download Recuva... Recuva only recovers the ones I like. This was my homework too. I am cooked.

Stay tuned :]
